Yasutomo S147 - Natural suzuri stone 5-1/2 inch x 3 inch

Suzuri is a flat grinding stone used to make Sumi ink. It has a sloping indentation which forms a small well at one end. A Sumi ink stick is ground on the stone surface with plain water to product liquid ink. The Suzuri stone is made of a combination of powdered natural stone and cementing compound, molded under high pressure.
